I’ve been thinking of getting some new patio chairs for Fumee. I like the Adirondack Chairs at Cost Plus, maybe in red? What do you think?

My name is Seth and recently I’ve found myself working/enjoying my time here at Fumee. As a new recruit here I would like to send out a warm welcome to everyone out there. I look forward to new cigar experiences both in the blog world as well as at the store. So until next time, don’t just smoke… Fumee.

Costco is now selling Montecristo. Interesting that they regulate online retailers to “protect B&Ms” but they’re willing to sell to Costco who sells this sucker at a deeeeeeep discount.

Montecristo at Costco
Can you guess what cigar this was? A customer had it in the store, and it was oozing tar like crazy.

Tarry Cigarry!

The Reigning Champions
Meet Adam H., a long time online customer of ours. Adam and his brother-in-law drove SEVEN HOURS from Oklahoma to visit Fumee’s retail store. For their trouble, they received a Fumee T-shirt. Can you beat them? Here’s the challenge: anyone who drives further than 7 hours to Fumee will receive a T-shirt and their own blog post. Flights don’t count! So, what are you waiting for? Get in the car and drive!

Cedar Park Citizen Part I

Part II
Fumée Cigar Lounge Opposes Smoke Free Texas
Cedar Park, TX (January 8, 2008) – This week, a bill known colloquially as Smoke Free Texas was introduced in the house. The bill prohibits smoking in all public places and places of employment with exemptions for hotels and non-profit private clubs. Notably absent is an exemption for cigar shops and lounges.
Fumée Cigar Lounge, located in Cedar Park, Texas has been open for less than two months. It’s proprietor, 26 year-old Heather Haddad of Austin is concerned about what this ban means for her business. “I’ve spent the last two years sacrificing a paycheck, working 80 hours a week, and risking everything I own to open up my business,” says Haddad. “Now I face the prospect of having all of that be for nothing because of some irrational idea that a person who walks into a cigar shop is going to be surprised to encounter smoke. I’m a vegetarian, but I don’t go into steak houses expecting a salad.”
Fumée, and lounges like Heroes and Legacies, Havana House and Pipe World stand to lose their business if the bill is not amended. Haddad clarifies, “I understand protecting non-smokers, but if an adult comes into a cigar lounge, they know and accept the risk that they will encounter smoking. To hurt our small businesses is not necessary and I hope steps will be taken immediately to rectify this situation.”
